11/25/06 Sale of Note

Just had to pop this one in real quick, since it ended with a "Best Offer" before many might have seen it.

TRS-80 TDP S-100 BREAKTHRU 3D Racquetball Avalon H NEW

An Avalon Hill game for the CoCo! Okay, it's 3D Breakout, not one of their awesome wargames (one of the reasons I keep an Atari 800 handy), but still... pretty cool. Never seen this one before and apparently at least one other person was impressed. Went for $125.00!!!

A quick updata... :)

There's several good stuffs in the TRS-80 forums for CoCoists and collectors alike to look at. :) I'm still fighting through the beginning of holiday rush at work, but will make a post tomorrow with some comments. I've attempted, but still fighting with Performancing for Firefox. It's a blow editor that works right in the browser window you're viewing. No swapping back and forth or tiling windows to get the job done. It also has blog performance tools and tracking. It's incredibly easy and powerful, but also terribly frustrating. The last two posts I've made were completely lost. The thing has no autosaving or safety features at all. If it goofs (or the connection goofs) you post is dead. So you have to manually select to save every now and then. Just like back in the good ol' days before auto-saving. Hoorah.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is heading into a very happy holiday season!

Angel's Luck,

Capt.

Comment: Another little test

Once again, another little test of the Performancing add-on for Firefox. Sorry. I'll try to go back through and delete this eventually. :)

No rest (or time) for the weary...

As the good Captain can relate to, I've been as busy as a one legged man in a butt kicking contest recently. Therefore, my CoCo time and internet time in general have been non-existant. Add to that, my PC crashed a week or so ago. 175GB of stuff just gone... Now I'm running on Windows 2000 with a 6GB drive. Talk about anemic computer systems (hmmm, might be a good name for a recycled system seller)...

Any way, I've seen a few things on eBay tonight that may generate a little interest. While I don't find any of it to be collectible, it is usable, which to me is more important...

Color Mouse for TRS-80 Coco

TRS-80 Multi-Pak Multipak Interface model 26-3024
This will need operated on to use with a CoCo3, but, seems to be in good condition.

4 COCO 3 GAMES RAD WARRIOR/MALCOM MORTAR/CASTLEOF

I can;t remember if CaptCPU posted these or not. These appear to be in great shape and I'd have to recant my statement about collectibility for this auction.

VINTAGE TRS-80 TANDY COLOR COMPUTER

This one caught my eye because of the keyboard. It doesn't look like any of the HJL keyboards and I do not recall any of the other aftermarket k/b's looking like this one. Then again, due to the angle of the picture, it could be just about anything...

TANDY COLOR COMPUTER 3 128K AND 7 GAMES AND MANUALS

A nice CoCo3 with everything you need to get started, including a couple of semi-rare games...

That's about all that caught my eye for now. Hopefully I'll be online more often in the coming days. My PC is still limping along and I'm at work more than home right now (I just HATE major network projects) so my internet time is going to be limited for a while. I'm hoping to be able to get back to the Model III repack, but, time will tell. On a personal note, many of my plans have been put on hold. I was notified last month that my job is being phased out due to a merger to be completed in late June. As such, much of my internet time will be in looking for a new job as it'll be a cold day in hades before I help then eliminate my job so I can go on unemployment. I've been there before, it's no fun...

11/08/06 Auctions of Note

Auctions of note for November 8th, 2006:

Some juicy bits available for your collecting pleasure this week. :) Don't forget to send your wish lists to your beloved family members. The holidays hath arrived!

(On an unrelated aside, in an effort to make the world a better browsing experience, I want to encourage everyone to pop by www.mozilla.org and download the new Firefox 2.0. Serious Goodness. The spell check feature alone will probably improve the quality of my posts. Well, the spelling anyway.)

I've actually got several used CoCo 2s in my watch list. Great prices and shipping and it never hurts to have a spare. Probably won't buy (have to many of 'em as it is), but if you're looking, look now.

Also a lot of stuff posted right now with absolutely ridiculous shipping/handling. Watch out.

The Interbank Incident - Graphic Adventure - Tandy CoCo

A Good to Very Good copy of the Interbank Incident. I really need to get around to firing this game up again. Loved it back in the ol' days.

Tom Mix Wildwest CoCo Color Computer *NR* *5-Day*
Coco Newsroom for Color Computer 3 *NR* *5-Day*

In what I've started referring to as The Shark Auctions (sharkonwheels) :) comes another couple of super, mind bending rarities. Both of these would be worthy of any CoCo software collection. And the seller is one of the best, so don't hesitate to go nuts. :D

Tandy Color Computer 2 TRS-80

This one might not get much attention, but it's worth a look. It's a mid to later model CoCo 2 (26-3126 or later), judging by the keyboard and manuals, and appears pretty complete. The seller also mentions it's working. From the photos I'd rate it at least a Very Good. Questions to ask are Catalog Number and Shipping (which is via UPS and can either be reasonable, or horribly expensive).

Tandy Color Computer 3 Games - Rampage & Mind Roll

Relisted. Couple of CoCo 3 games in a presentable condition.

There's plenty of usable stuff in there, too. It's a good time to grab some! Like I said, some of the CoCo 2s listed are worth a look alone, even if you just need a spare.

Last year about this time the quantity and quality of the auctions continued to ramp up right until the week before Christmas. All sorts of goodies were popping up like crazy. Then it died and stayed dead until about Valentines day. If those rare ones pop up, might be a good idea to snag 'em now. And to sellers: being in retail myself, I'll remind that after the holidays, there's plenty of people with gift certificates and extra cash for "after holiday" sales. Wouldn't hurt to post a few items during that time.

Happy bidding!

Angel's Luck,
Capt
