10/8/06 Auctions of Note

Auctions of note for October 8th, 2006:

Hoo-boy, it's heatin' up again! Gotta love it. Plenty of Color Computer love for your collecting pleasure, so let's get started...

2 Tandy Color Computer 3 cartridge games w/manuals

Couple of nice paks. Castle isn't as good as the original Dungeons of Daggorath, but it's worth playing through for a bit. Can't believe it, but I've never played Robocop. Hope it's better than Predator. Yuk.

Tandy color computer 2 games

Flight Sim I and Gwana Bwana in worth having condition. Flight Sim I is actually fun if you're into that retro flying thing. Play it on a CoCo 1 for the real experience. Gwana Bwana is an excellent CoCo 1 and 2 game. It needs to be modified to work correctly in color on the CoCo 3. The update was published in The Rainbow, but I forget which one. I'll see if I can find it, if anyone wants. Or print the BASIC loader from the modified copy I have. Anyhow, it talks if you have the Speech/Sound pak and the higher skill levels are a blast. Actually, I have a harder time finishing on the beginner skill level than on the higher setting. Go figure.

Rainbow Magazine's for the tandy color computer

Big ass lot of Rainbows including the rare last run. Expect heavy shipping. They tend to be hefty.

Kyum-Gai: To be Ninja for Coco Color Computer 3
Warp Fighter 3-D Steve Bjork for Coco Color Computer 3
The Shadow Disk Steve Bjork for Coco Color Computer 3
SinistaaR Disk Game for 512K Coco Color Computer 3
Word Power 3.1 Coco Color Computer 3
Sierra King's Quest 3 Disk Game Coco Color Computer 3
Radio Shack Interbank Incident Game Coco Color Computer
Burke & Burke Hyper-I/O 2.3 coco color computer

Whew. This is the kind of auction that makes my credit card sweat. There's enough CoCo goodness here, from the same seller, to make any CoCoist drool. As you can see above, there's a few exceedinly rare CoCo 3 items in there that have literally not come up for auction in years. Good stuff!

Radio Shack TRS-80 computer in original box!

Good looking, near mint CoCo 2. Can't tell if it's complete but the box, wrappers and manual appear to be present. Potential collectible unit here.

VINTAGE TRS-80 TANDY TRIVIA FEVER NO RESERVE

Apparently complete Trivia Fever. Price is a bit high and the shipping would be high as well (it's a heavy box loaded with stuff). Still, if you need a nice looking copy it might be worth a look.

Tandy Color Computer COCO 3 + FD 501 Disk Drive + Books

Not necessarily a collectible lot, but a very nice system. If you need a CoCo 3 to get started on, this one seems to have everything you need.

Massive Lot of Tandy CoCo Software 300+ Disks & Games!

From the same seller, an entire collection of software. Some of the stuff listed is remarkable rare. Buying the two together would pretty much set you up as far retro CoCoing goes. Some highly collectible items in this lot. These lots tend to grab a lot of bids and some pretty stellar prices, so if you're gonna take a wack, get in there and get it done soon.

VINTAGE TRS-80 SHANGHAI AND THEXDER 128 K NO RESERVE

Two nicely boxed games, both are a load of fun. And a nice contrast as well. Shanghai is a tile game for the thinker. Thexder is a dodge and smash twitch fest for the coffee addict in the house.

DRAGON 32/64 & TANDY COCO MAGAZINES (VERY RARE)

Some exceedinly rare mags for the Dragon and CoCo. Looks like a pretty tasty lot from the U.K.

Twin Dragon 32/64 Cumana disk drives + disks

dragon dragon sent in this one. The auctions over but I thought it was pretty cool. And we think CoCo stuff gets expensive? Apparently disk drives for the Dragon are even more rare!

Okay, so another price update (finally) coming up. The teasers are: The CoCo 2 is still selling steadily. More CoCo 3s have been showing up quite a bit. We'll wait until the current round ends next Sunday, but at the moment the base machine itself has gone up to about $45.00 each on average! Quite a bit more depending on the extras included and completeness of the system. I think it's just nice to see them listing again and available.
