8/16/06 Auctions of Note

Auctions of note for August 16th, 2006:

First, a big welcome to CoCoist random_rodder, AKA Brian! Rodder is joining us to provide addition commentary on CoCo collecting, particularly from a more "users" point of view. This should bring some fresh insight into The CoCo Collector, make it more enjoyable for all readers, and I couldn't be more pleased he's agreed to join in. And while you're out and about and of a mind for a CoCo, check out his personal blog at http://cocom3repack.blogspot.com/ where he's detailing his CoCo 3 repack project. This is shaping up to be one wickedest looking CoCos I've ever seen. :)

As we go along, we may add more CoCo folks to the contributor list. The more POV we can get, the better!

Seller of note:

kb8sfc

This seller has a variety of packs in various "use" conditions, some possibly collectible in the Good range. In the book business we call these "reading copies." :) Still the selection is nice and worth a look if you need any of these paks for playing or archiving.

Hidden in the lot:

Vintage Radio Shack TRS-80 Color Computer 2 & Games

This auction has a nice treasure or two in it. Particularly of note is the complete Color Cube pak with original blister, manual, keyboard overlay, and foldable helper cube! Collectible? Indeed! Seriously rare item there! While the blister is yellowing (they do that), the contents appear to be pretty cherry. There's a few other nice looking, though more common, items in the lot, as well as some extras (including the the CoCo itself) for spares or playing with.

MC-10:

Radio Shack TRS-80 Micro Color Computer- Boxed

Okay, mint/near mint MC-10s have been plentiful lately, but this one has such a nice looking box, I just had to list it. :)

Mysteria meat:

Radio Shack TRS-80 Books, Mini Disk Reader, Other..

Talk about vague auctions! At least theres photos of this pile o' CoCo stuff. Take a good look at the the black box near the center of the first photo. The one with the cables coming out the back. Appears to be a joystick converter? Interesting... Might make an interesting grab bag lot, if you're in the mood. :)

Mislisted:

Vintage Tandy Disk Drive FD 501 for CoCo L@@K Buy Me!!

Nice looking FD-501 with cable and controller. These don't come up much, so definately worth a look. And the price is most definitely right!

Vintage Tandy Multi-Pak Interface for CoCo C@@L Buy Me!

And from the same seller, a mislisted 26-3124 MPI. Again, at this price, it's worth a look, even if you're just needing a spare or one to restore.

TANDY COLOR COMPUTER DISK DRIVE FD 501 CARTRIDGE

Not particularly collectible, unless you're looking to fill out a drive set up you're piecing together. This controller is a good choice for using, though, so if you need one... well, here ya go!

Angel's Luck,
Capt
