8/1/06 Auctions of Note

Auctions of note for August 1, 2006:

I wasn't able to get a post up last night (no technical problems, at least!) due to this little thing I like to do sometimes called "sleep." Granted it is rare, but must be done occasionally or I start hallucinating. I was browsing the eBay listing and CoCo Man was sitting there next to me pointing out interesting items and drinking coffee. Well, I was drinking coffee, he just kept typing POKE 65495,0 into his keyboard, but it's the same thing.

Anyhoo, I figured right about then it was time to go to bed. :)

So here's some items of note from yesterday. Plenty of action in the TRS-80 listings. If you've just bought a CoCo and want stuff for it, now is a good time. Many sellers have noted the recent activity and are jumping in to cash in. This is good because it's an excellent opportunity to grab some great CoCo swag! Arrrrr!

TRS-80 Micro Computer System-Complete!

Mentioned this one earlier and with about 7 hours to go, looks like it's going to sell for at least US$100.00. Pretty darn rare CoCo, but worth it? Perhaps. In this condition, this particular cat no doesn't come too often. Mine is better. :P Although mine doesn't have the quick reference card (so I pilfered it from a different CoCo). As said, this model hasn't sold for this much before, so it'll go in the notes, but probably won't affect the price in the Price Guide any unless it sells higher a couple of more times.

If you're jonesing to bid on a Color Computer 2 system, may I suggest:

Radio Shack TSR-80 Color Computer

Now here's a complete CoCo 2 setup with all the trimmings, sidedishes, dessert and a cup of coffee and after dinner mint to boot! Slap a drive on this one and you're good to go. The price is right, the shipping is more than reasonable. Hell, if I can come with the cash I may bid on it myself and there's not a damn thing in there I need. heh! A seriously good lot. Obviously can't vouch, but it looks tasty.

Some rare paks in nice condition (a bit yellowed) for the collector. (There's a GFL football pak too, but it sucks, so... :P But if you need it, check this seller). Oh, he's got Shanghai up there too, which most definately does not suck.

Tandy Radio Shack TRS-80 Color Computer 2 Joystick MINT

Bidding has begun on this one. A very nice lot, but... note to sellers: just add the work MINT (put a breath mint in there somewhere to keep it honest) to the auction listing and let the silliness comence. Sigh... Let's hope this one sells on its merits (which are fine) and not on it's auction title.
