8/18/06 Auctions of Note

Auctions fo note for August 18th, 2006:

I'm going to attempt to do a Price Guide update tomorrow, but no promises... :P

While there's certainly been a few super collectible items pop up of late, right now the collectible market seems to be for those looking to a) fill in holes in what they've got, and b) folks starting out and looking for stuff to play with. While some of the hardcore collectors might lament this phase of the market, it's a great time for the CoCo collector scene in general. This is the type of market where new collectors, those interested for the first time and those returning to the fold, can get hooked on the CoCo all over again. If you run into one of these folks out on the 'net, encourage them! :)

Some software bits (from cocoman.org):

Sub Battle Simulator for Tandy Color Computer 3 coco

One of my very favorite CoCo games, Sub Battle Simulator from Epyx! I'm not a particularly nautical person. My seafaring experience comes from my father, who instilled in me a love to great sailing ships and models. The rest comes from reading the occasional sea faring adventure book (just finished reading "Pirates! In An Adventure With Ahab," by Gideon DeFoe, which is the funniest pirate book... ever) and admiration for the whole affair.

This game, however, got me hooked on submarines! I played this game for days on end. It's real time (okay, there's an accelerator key) and still an excellent tactical simulator today. Not as fancy as some of the newer sub sims, but definately worth a look for the novice. Requires the patience and fortitude of a... well... sub commander! Definately not an action game. And here it is, complete and ready to go for the CoCo sub pilot in all of us! Definately woth a look.

The Microscopic Mission for Color Computer 3 disk coco

If I remember correctly, this is another fun game for the CoCo 3. Been years since I played it. The copy I have is sealed and put away, so I couldn't say for certain what's suppose to be included. Hey, it's got the disk (shown working) and the manual!

Koronis Rift for Tandy Color Computer 3 Disk coco

This one I didn't ever play, but the copy looks good and is shown working, so worth a look if you don't have it. The copy I have, alas, is dead as a doornail. :/

Mislisted:

VINTAGE TANDY COLOR COMPUTER 64K SOFTWARE WINNIE/POOH
VINTAGE TANDY COLOR COMPUTER 64K SOFTWARE MICKEY MOUSE
VINTAGE TANDY COLOR COMPUTER 64K SOFTWARE DONALD DUCK

These three, all from the same seller, appear to be in at least Good to Very Good condition, for collectible purposes. They're also loads of fun for the youngs ones. While the old tape-based disney games are fun, with pretty decent voice acting, they are horrible slow. These disk-based games are a bit quicker and more interactive. Fun stuff!

TANDY COLOR COMPUTER 3 128K WITH 2 GAME CARTHRIDGES.

Another mislisted CoCo 3 at a good starting bid. The CoCo 3 appears to be clean and was tested working. Those two educational software packages, if complete, are worth a look as well.

Angel's Luck,
Cris
